Tile your kitchen
Our tiles are a beautiful, tactile, and functional choice of material suitable for most spaces, not least kitchens. There are many ways to incorporate tiles to create a kitchen that reflects your individual style and creativity — a kitchen for socializing and cooking that will remain beautiful for many, many years to come. In this article, we explore the versatility of tiles, and hopefully, we can provide some inspiration for various interior design possibilities for your kitchen renovation.
Tiles — a timeless material
From minimalist backsplashes to majestic kitchen walls. Tiles have adorned small and large kitchens for centuries. The enduring popularity of tiles likely lies in their ability to seamlessly blend functionality with a strong artistic expression. Whether you prefer a minimalist, rustic, or eclectic feel, there is something for everyone.
Accentuate with a fully tiled kitchen wall
Tiling the kitchen wall is both stylish and practical. It’s a way to create visual interest in the kitchen. Our tiles are vibrant and tactile, giving the space a soft value. Moreover, it is functional as the kitchen wall can then also serve as a backsplash.
You can create a minimalist impression by choosing a color that matches the other walls in your home and sticking to few materials in the kitchen. A cream-white tile, for example, Bomull, a stainless steel countertop and fittings, and kitchen cabinet doors in a dark wood species make a beautiful and harmonious combination.
If you want to create a lively atmosphere with stronger colors, we can recommend Solstråle, Mint, or why not Litchi?
In addition to the choice of tiles, it is important to consider which grout shade to use. Different grout colors give completely different impressions, even when the same tiles are used. Contrasting grout highlights the tiles and their shape, creating a lot of character in the room. Uniform grout, meaning the grout matches the tone of the tile, creates a calmer feel. Colored grout is also an option to create a lively and personal impression. Read our journal article A guide about grout to get more information about how the grout shade affects the room.

Be creative with the kitchen backsplash
The kitchen backsplash is the perfect detail to give your kitchen a more personal touch in a cost-effective and simple way. Backsplashes can extend across the entire wall, they can cover the entire surface between the countertop and kitchen cabinets, or you can use only a single row of tiles. You can also clad an accent wall by letting the tiles go from, for example, the hob to the extractor fan.
By letting the backsplash add another color to the kitchen, contrasting with the other materials, you can give the room an extra dimension and lively feel. For a harmonious and more minimalist impression, you keep the tones more cohesive. For example, you can match the tiles to the color of the kitchen wall, or you can pick up another recurring color in your home.
Both matte and glossy tiles work well as backsplashes. Both are easy to clean and care for. Something to consider is that some stains are more visible on glossy tiles as they break the surface.

Tile your countertop
Marble, stainless steel, or wood — these are often the materials one thinks of when choosing a countertop. We want to make a case for tiling the countertop. It gives the kitchen a unique (and in our opinion beautiful) detail.

Care for your tiles
Tiles are, in addition to being a beautiful choice of material, also a practical option when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. Weekly cleaning is done by wet wiping with a microfiber cloth or equivalent. If desired, a pH-neutral cleaning agent can be used in conjunction with wet wiping. Dust is most easily removed with dry mopping. You can read our care instructions here.
